I recently had a look at a friend’s Vanguard Endeavour 8×42 binos, a brand I was not familiar with, and was very impressed with the clarity of the image, relative to the price.
He had picked them up when he lived in the US, and apparently, the Vanguards are mostly marketed to the hunting community, rather than birders: it seems the hunting community generally need quality, but have less disposable income than the birding community! Hence, the sweet spot of price and quality. According to him anyway.
I am now looking at a Vanguard telescope, probably the HD82A, assuming the optical quality will be comparable.
Anyone familiar with the Vanguard Endeavours and want to share any feedback?
