from what I can see the following changes have been made to the Australian
list
new species name
Black-eared Catbird – (Latin names unchanged for genus, species and
subspecies)
– range Cape York Pen
Changes in Latin names
Spotted Catbird – A maculosus
Intermediate Egret – Ardea intermedia
Sub-species added
Yellow-tufted Honeyeater – L m gippslandicus (central and east Gippsland)
Mangrove Golden Whistler P m violetae (northern Australia – a bit confusing
as robusta is also listed as northern Australia – will have to look Mathews
1912 when I get time)
Sub-species deleted
Noisy Miner – lepidota lumped with nom subspecies
Australian Magpie – terraereginae lumped with nom subspecies
