Phalarope at Flat Rock – again

Hi

For those who may be wondering or still Red-neck Phalarope-challenged,
the bird at Flat Rock, Ballina NSW was back last night.
Right on dusk (6.55pm NSW time) it flew in, flustered around for 5
minutes, quite agitated, then settled down to sleep.
This morning at dawn it was gone. It is obviously using the rock as a
roost and little else, especially when the conditions are good – as they
were overnight. I believe the rising tide this morning and the clear
night and full moon, encouraged it to go earlier than normal. Where it
spends the daylight hours is an interesting question to which I have no
answer!

A HUGE THANKS to Steve McBride without whose persistence and interest I
would still be Phalarope-less.
