Dear all,
On behalve of Arjan Dwarshuis, who is currently undertaking a attempt to break the World record of birds seen in a year (6000+). Today he is up to 1057 species, see here: world.observation.org/arjan.php
He misses (but had some excellent site descriptions from John Tongue) a person who could help him to fetch the extra species when in Tasmania. So my question would some-one be willing to help him in Tasmania, and trying to see as much species as possible here in the short time he is here. He will be arriving at Hobart at 8:40 at 23 March (flight VA770) and will be departing at 24 March at 20:50 (YY714). So any help would be more then welcome, as every species counts, even a day of assisting would help.
Thanks a lot for you’re help, and please contact me directly and will Arjan supply with details,
Justin Jansen

Yes, that would be an interesting logistical challenge. He has to average about 20 species per day throughout the year. The trick is to be able to collect as many of the endemics in each region in as short a time possible. It would be frustrating in areas where there are a few endemics but the time constraints make them unviable (e.g. the grasswrens etc in the Lake Eyre Basin) …
Regards, Laurie.
