Hi Judy,
Brush-turkeys eat a variety of food (HANZAB states “seeds, fruits, grain,
insects, earthworms, occasionally reptiles, and carrion) so I would expect
that they will find enough food to survive. They have been turning up in a
number of north coast New South Wales locations where they were previously
absent or rare so the species is doing well.
Regards
Greg

Subject: [Birding-Aus] Gold Coast Spit ramifications of fire at
FederationWalk last November
Hi all,
Of course, there are many Australia Brush-Turkeys situated through
Federation Walk and as there was a large fire in November, I’m guessing the
birds are not finding sufficient food in the area.
With the current discussion on feeding, I’m wondering what a solution could
be?
Regards,
Judy
