Hi all, Good rainfall over the last few months has created great conditions in the SA outback (particularly the Birdsville track) and some of the birds that have bred up there, seem to be moving south. Gluepot is looking good, and Orange and Crimson Chats have recently reached the reserve. They don’t occur there every year, in fact I think it was 2012 that I last saw orange chats there. We’ll be expecting Pied & Black Honeyeaters next! Two days ago I had the first Rainbow Bee-eater for the season at Gluepot. Currently all three local species of Cuckoo are present (Black-eared, Horsfield’s and Palid). No sign of Scarlet-chested Parrots yet but they can’t be too far off. And the resident species (Black-eared Miner and Red-lored Whistler in particular) are performing as usual…! cheers Peter ——- Peter Waanders Bellbird Tours
