Tern, Tern Tern – ID Help

I photographed some very white terns at Wollongong and I can’t work out what they are. I would appreciate any help in identifying them. Photographs of them are on my blog:

    G’day Chris,

They all look like first year White-fronted Terns Chris.

    Cheers Jeff Davies.

Paul – what odds for your money?

Look at the top of the primaries: the white hooks strongly suggest a white hind edge to the upper primaries meaning Roseate or White-fronted.

I don’t do Roseates but the jizz is W-f to me, including the very white look and the “droop snoot” bill due to the curvature of the upper bill being far greater than that of the lower (except in the possible Common T second from right).
