Kangaroos are very different from cats. They are much bigger, easier to find, live in groups and are tame. The kangaroos in Canberra are easy to approach, normally to within about 20 metres, so shooting with a dart is not so hard. Besides every time there is a kangaroo cull here there is always lots of people protesting it. Kangaroos here are a problem to people, not just wildlife, because of the number that are killed on the roads and damage to cars and possibly people and the impact they have on several other species of fauna and flora.
