A 12-week Victorian recreational duck-shooting season will commence March 21. As many as one in four shot birds isn’t killed outright, but escapes, wounded. Most suffer a prolonged, cruel death. But if reached in time, some can be given treatment and may be rehabilitated and released to the wild.
