As you are no doubt aware, the proposed PEMS’ Powling Street Wetlands Subdivision, which was approved by council last year is being challenged in VCAT. There has been a great deal of work done to present a solid case to challenge this development. I am letting you know that the VCAT hearing for the Powling Street development is scheduled for next week – 24th – 28th February – starting at 10am on 24th Feb. It will be heard at the Warrnambool Magistrates’ Court, 218 Koroit Street, Warrnambool. We would love any members or interested parties in the area to attend the hearing and show support. Remember that this is an important hearing for the birds and the local community. If you attend please observe the protocols that are associated with official hearings. Hoping for a good outcome for the birds and our local community. See you there. Chris Morris Secretary South Beach Wetlands and Landcare Group.
