Plover ID help

Those of us living in deserts aren’t so flash on wader ID. Can anyone help me with this one I found at the sewage ponds in Alice Springs today.

I’m 90% sure it is a Pacific Golden Plover, but looking in some of the field guides I almost think the bill is too chunky, the head a bit big, the way the pattern on the forward edge of the wing cuts up a little further back – perhaps could be a Grey Plover.

Can some wader savant out there give me a hand?
