I have recently been lamenting the lack of sightings of Australian Crake in SE Qld, (in fact, I haven’t seen one in our great state since the late-eighties!) today whilst attempting (in vain) to find Plum-headed Finch in the Lockyer Valley, Birding-Aus *Victorian* regular Dave Torr spotted one at Lake Galetley in the UQ grounds at Gatton. The temperature at the time was in the mid-thirties and it was around noon. Rather poor images available here http://www.aviceda.org/pix/?page_id=2504(sorry, had to use a 2X converter to get proof!)
Tom
Thanks for a great day Tom but in the interests of truth I must point out it was Iian Denham who first spotted it!
