Reading the specs on the Net it looks like a terrific torch for night-birding purposes, with a 300 metre throw (promoted for use by hunters when attached to a rifle) but not surprisingly comes at quite a price ($278 on-line). R.

Hi Richard, I forgot to add that both friends (who are on this list and may comment themselves?) have found the fine spot beam of the Sea Lion Hunter really useless as it is just way too narrow. I’m sure hunters must like it but for birders there is no spread at all so impossible to find a bird with it. This model actually comes with two heads and the other head is by far the better.
