Thanks for all your very welcome advice and comments. (more still welcome). I am driving from Melbourne return, and have no set routes as of yet. One note I should have mentioned is our beloved puppy will be coming too. (that shoots down the Gluepot and a few others). Have just rushed out for my Tomas and Tomas where to find birds in Australia- very happy. If anyone has travelled with pets, would appreciate any hints re birding. Thanks again to all and have enjoyed learning from this great forum over the last year. Mark.

As we had never been there before (and my other half is not a birder) the trip was taken up with general sight seeing and birding/nature viewing/photography. I am more interested in the sights and the photography as opposed to being a ‘twitcher/ticker’. > > Anyway, places I would highly recommend for visits (maybe repeat visits!) > > Alice Springs Desert Park (Grey Headed Honeyeater, Splendid Fairy Wren, Spinifex Pigeon) > > Olive Pink Botanical Gardens (Western Bowerbird, Grey Crowned Babbler, Ringneck) > > Anetyeke Garden/pond (out the front of the Alice Springs airport, lovely little spot to sit and watcher or wander – I had great views of Zebra Finches, Budgies, Diamond Doves) > > You can see some of my pictures here: > > http://www.pbase.com/chezzyr/territory_birds > > Others may give you different ideas depending on your interests or which way you are driving. > > regards > > Cheryl Ridge > Melbourne > > > > > > > —————————— > > Message: 3 > Date: Sun, 13 May 2012 10:50:23 +1000 > From: mwstephens1970@gmail.com > To: “birding-aus@vicnet.net.au”
