I agree with others, as in within an Australian context it is a Grey Teal. Hard to know how to support or reject the idea of being a hybrid, just on those photos. Some have said it is moulting its primaries. True, but it is moulting its secondaries as well. Maybe the combination of loss of all those feathers significantly changes the appearance of the bird’s back sloping onto the tail and highlights a rather odd shaped tail. Maybe moulting its outer rectricies as well.
