Hi all, just a quick question… Am currently in Hat Head NSW… I heard that the White Eared Monarch has been seen around here. Would anyone know of any hot spot locations for it if it is here?? Any other leads on other bird species in this area would be a great help too Thanks heaps kirri ===============================

There are some records of White-eared Monarch from Crowdy Bay NP, a bit to the north of Taree, including a pair was there from 2003-2008 and at least once in that period there was an immature bird present.

Dear Kirri
You may be a bit too far south for the White-eared Monarch. I saw one many years ago on only one occasion at Iluka and HANZAB says that Iluka is the southernmost record but then goes on to say that one was recorded at Woolgoolga!
