‘Myiagra’ Flycatcher

Yes, Jeff, that’s the photo, taken at Oberi Rock in Kakadu NP. Labeled as a Satin Flycatcher but looks very much like a Leaden going by the chest demarcation line at least. Tom Tarrant has added a few more views of his flycatcher starting (when I last looked) at http://picasaweb.google.com/aviceda/Darwin#5510430706900015810 More front-on views which clearly show how the demarcation line curves downwards at the outer edges. The Bird Observer I referenced shows a shot of a Satin Flycatcher very much like the Darwin bird.

If a Hooded Plover can end up at Noosa on the Qld Sunshine Coast, why couldn’t a Satin Flycatcher turn up in Darwin? We live in interesting times, after all.

Cheers
