Hi all, Taking the family to Forbes for a couple of nights on Sunday before a visit to friends in Orange and i have been given leave for a couple of dawn birding/photography outings at Gum Swamp. Does anyone know if you are allowed to access the swamp in an inflatable boat? I have only been there once and only briefly so don’t know if this is allowed or advisable?
Also are there any Barking Owls around there?
Thanks! Cheers David Stowe ===============================

David,
Gum Swamp is the evaporation pond for Forbes’ sewage treatment works. I think the local council may not like you paddling about in it.
Cheers,
Carl Clifford
