Gooday birders
Can someone please recommend and or comment on a book or two on the evolution of birds. Three that I have seen on the net that seem promising are by Feduccia (1999), Chiappe (2007) or Chatterjee (1997). Fathers day presents.

Greg,
Chiappe’s (2007) treatment of the early evolution of birds supersedes Chatterjee (1997) and Feduccia (1999). This is because Chiappe discusses the significance of the discovery of the Microraptor gui fossil in China in 2003 and how it changed scientists’ ideas about the origin and early evolution of birds. I don’t know if similar books have been published since then.
