Ring-necked parakeets

Yes, these bird are indeed very invasive, and they seem gradually to invade almost all of Southern and central Europe. They are common birds many places in the Netherlands by now, and of course they are developing to be a pest in England. Last September 2010 I took part in an amphipod conference in Sevilla, Spain, and this septmber in another amphipod eeting in Palermo, Sicily, Italy, and both places the parks were full of Ring-necked Parakeets, contrary to what my field guiide mapped.
