I have the 7th edition (2004?) and there’s no mention of the number of tail feathers, neither in the guide part nor in the back notes, which I think are on page 321. I’m not sure how he’s managed to move those forward some 40 pages, unless there’s been large amounts of material removed, or perhaps a smaller font used.
I don’t have the book in front of me now, I just checked it quickly before I left home. Perhaps there’s another mention of them further on.
