Yes, this follows a string of newly listed species in NSW over the past 18 months, as well as several “upgrades” of status (e.g. APO to Endangered; Beach Stone-curlew to Critically Endangered, a status that has been put forward for the Regent Honeyeater as well).
It is interesting to note that a few weeks ago the NSW Scientific Committee rejected a proposed listing, which is something that does not happen very often (very few examples, especially with fauna). The proposal to list the White-browed Woodswallow as Vulnerable in NSW was rejected on the grounds of there being “insufficient data to support such a listing”. See the link below for details.
