Glenys in summary – red-rumped parrots would be expected – I think. A male scarlet-chested in Chinchilla would be an amazing record – certainly well out of range (I’m at work and don’t have HANZAB to hand) and the possibilities of it being an escape would certainly be on the cards.

To my delight, on a branch close to the water was a male scarlet chested parrot. He quickly flew off, unfortunately, but I managed to get photos of what I believe are a pair of red dumped parrots in the tree on the other side of the creek. > > Is this normal to be able to see these birds, or was I particularly lucky? > > I just thought I should mention it, in case it is of interest. > > Kind regards, > Glenys > =============================== > > To unsubscribe from this mailing list, > send the message: > unsubscribe > (in the body of the message, with no Subject line) > to: birding-aus-request@vicnet.net.au > > http://birding-aus.org > ===============================
