OVERVIEW The morning began with some cloud cover delivering patchy rain which gradually cleared as the day progressed. Sea water temperatures were still high at 24degC. We motored out to Brown’s Mountain (approx. 22.5NM ESE off the Heads) arriving there around mid-morning. Good numbers of Shearwater, with the odd Jaeger, trailed . . . → Read More: SYDNEY PELAGIC TRIP REPORT – SATURDAY 10 MARCH 2018
By Birding-Aus, on March 15th, 2018% I’ve always taken FNQ to be the Tablelands and Cairns northwards. Jun Matsui and I are doing a Photoguide to the Birds of North Queensland which goes from Townsville northwards, we purposely avoided using FNQ as we went a tad too far south. By Birding-Aus, on March 13th, 2018% Hello Martin,
There is am image of what I think was a Black-tailed Gull on my website.

Cheers
Graeme

Regarding Olive Whistlers, I’d be looking for the highest point where there is regular winter snow, maybe Mount Bindo?
Olive Whistlers regularly breed at Mt Ginini west of Canberra. You need dense thickets of . . . → Read More: Help with a Blue Mountains Bird
By Birding-Aus, on March 13th, 2018% At about 9:45am on Friday 09/03/18, I had a nice but brief encounter with a lone Black-tailed Gull on the western edge of the Cairns CBD. It flew in towards me from the coast (east) at about 50mtrs above ground, and as luck sometimes has it, it flew directly over the top of me to . . . → Read More: a single BLACK-TAILED GULL seen in Cairns, FNQ on Friday 09/03/18
