I was surprised to see a Spectacled Monarch in the closed canopy section of the Roma St Parklands in Brisbane today. They are more of a summer bird around here, and definitely not a species I would expect to see in inner Brisbane [1 km from the GPO]. Last week I had guests aboard who had recently taken a barramundi fishing expedition from Horn Island in Torres Strait southwards along western CapeYork to the Skardon River.
