Hi Ron
Howard Springs roughly 15-20 min out of Darwin, is always reliable for me any time of the year.
Get there before 8am if possible with less people…I usually detect them by hearing them foraging in leaf litter or the sound of their feet hopping through the debris, or they’ll actually call. (Familiarise yourself with their call if u havnt already)
I see them hop across the track often usually at the first part of the loop walk which starts on your left before the little walk bridge. I take my time with this first part of the walk …just scanning and listening. Sometimes they just freeze and just sit under an overhanging branch nd are difficult to spot so I scan the edge of the bush and a little in from the edge of the path…sometimes I’ve seen them just standing there.
The other hand of the short loop walk I’ve seen them there too..
