SOSSA ran a private pelagic on Saturday 16th of July 2011.
Good numbers of birds were seen, including large numbers of Slender-billed Prions, a Northern Royal Albatross and 2 Common Diving Petrels. Diving Petrels have not been seen off Wollongong for over 10 years.
There have also been a number of Slender-billed Prion’s found beach washed in the Wollongong area.
For those interested, SOSSA is running trips on both Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend, 23 and 24 July. The Saturday trip is full, but there are 1 or 2 spots left on the Sunday trip.
Cheers
Brook
