Ruth and I were in Chiltern some weeks ago now.
Swift Parrots were easily seen on Langs Track very near to the intersection with Riley’s Road. This area is to the north of Chiltern. If you haven’t done so already, go to the Parks Victoria website and download the Parknote for Chiltern-Mt Pilot National Park: http://parkweb.vic.gov.au/explore/parks/chiltern-mt-pilot-national-park
Also, you should call into the tourist information centre in Chiltern and get yourself a copy of the “Bird Trails” leaflet which will indicate the best spots.
We dipped on the Regent Honeyeater this time, but they had been seen in a couple of locations – at the Honeyeater Picnic Area (it used to be called Cyanide Dam) – on the track that leads to the south of the carpark (over the wooden bridge). The other location was in the “usual” spot for Regent Honeyeaters, on Green Hill Road to the south of Klotz Track. You can also try looking anywhere along Klotz Track, and in the area I mentioned for the Swift Parrots.
