Denise, About 4 years ago we bought a Scoutguard camera from Faunatec in Bairnsdale, Vic. http://www.faunatech.com.au/ We got good service and quick delivery from them. They also have a lot of other useful fauna surveying equipment. The Scoutguard has served our purposes fairly well although it is designed more for larger animals. Yellow-footed Antechinus have been identifiable but we’ve struggled with anything smaller. Also the optimal focal distance is about 2.5m. We’ve found that battery life is pretty good, < 3months, with 8 rechargeable batteries. We use the movie setting quite a bit which results in some interesting sequences. A minor disadvantage with the model that we have is that the time/date and file numbering resets to zero each time it is turned off and the card changed. Another brand that is used by mammal surveyors here in Vic is the Reconyx. From what I've seen these are a bit more sophisticated in what they can do but that also makes the setup process a bit more complicated.
