I was just penning a similar email. For those who are locked into making a trip to red centre anyway, I suppose the key now is to look for other patches of accessible suitable habitat where birds might be present. If anyone familiar with the area can make any suggestions of places worth trying, I’m sure that would be appreciated. As I understand it, transit permits still allow us to search e.g. the Meerenie Loop Road, Tjukaruru Road west from Kata Tjuta, and the Kintore Road? Please correct me if this is wrong.
