Some more information on this matter. It appears that the lass caught pertussis in Nepal and travelled then to Thailand. She has contacted all the people she travelled with plus the restaurants where she ate. However, it’s doubtful she could have contacted all those she was around; people on transport for example. So again, if yore travelling, ensure you’re immunised, and take out travel insurance. Denise A friend’s daughter has just returned from Thailand with pertussis (whooping cough). It took doctors here some weeks to diagnose (they originally thought she might have tuberculosis). So travelling birders, have all your immunisations and take out travel insurance before heading overseas.
