Fleshy Footed Shearwaters

Hi Mick etc, With regards to the low numbers of Fleshy Footed Shearwaters off the east coast, hopefully this is just a temporary feature due to a change in feeding patterns and they will return shortly, however, there are articles online by Ian Hutton et al (2008) showing that 79% of nestlings on Lord Howe Island had plastic in their guts and Dr Jennifer Lavers states that 96% of nestlings contained plastic in 2011. Presumbly this wouldn't cause a sudden population decline but it can 't be good for the long term health of the population.
