Birdline Australia Published sightings for the week ending 16 Nov 2014. Mon 10 Nov American Dowitcher Lake Tutchewop Bird still present at Latitude: -35.499044 Longitude: 143.753457 Waiting on ID confirmation James Mustafa, Scott Baker and Tim Nickholds Semipalmated Plover Pelican Point Maureen Christie and Helen Vaughan per Bob Green Sun 9 Nov Semi-palmated Plover Pelican Point, Carpenter Rocks, SA A Semi-palmated Plover found by Maureen Christie and Helen Vaughan, photos have been studied and the identity has been confirmed. Maureen Christie & Bob Green (finders M Christie & H Vaughan) Red Turtle Dove Rocky Point Crescent, Settlement. Christmas Island Observed Red Turtle Dove on the 9/11/14 between 16.20 and 17.45 while out walking along Rocky Point Crescent, Settlement, Xmas Island in the afternoon. Was feeding busily on grassed area between homes and foreshore. Very flighty and reluctant to allow me to get too close. Julian Miles Fri 7 Nov Dowitcher sp. (either Long-billed or Short-billed) Lake Tutchewop A Dowitcher sp. either Short-billed of Long-billed has been recorded and photographed at Lake Tutchewop but confirmation of which species is required.
