Botany Bay National Park

Hi Cas,

At Botany Bay NP, I regularly see them near Cape Solander – as you go into Cape Solander, there’s a track off to the right before you get to the carpark – about 700ish meters in there’s a pipeline that goes down to the refinery. There’s 2 spots I see them – the first is immediately on the left in an area of heath overlooked by some rocks. The second is near where the pipeline starts – off to the north is a big stack of rocks and a water tower – in that area I see some there, although I haven’t seen them there for a few months now (there’s been a largeish flock of ravens move in and stick around – they’re probably still there, but just not showing), the first area is better.

In the Royal, Mt Bass firetrail is one of the best spots for them.

And at all the spots – you want good emu-wren conditions – not much wind, and get down early.

Cheers Troy
