Took my brother up here with three targets in mind but only got to see one, the thick billed grasswren-dipped on chestnut breasted whiteface and on rufous fieldwren. There were however many little button quail, budgies, brown songlarks and of course myriads of zebra finches and blue and white wrens. I nice surprise was five male orange chats and two brown and one coloured male crimson chat. Two rufous songlarks, also. It was good to see female brown songlark, which a couple of times sat on top of small bushes-this is a bird I have only seen once before and like most people I see the boy frequently displaying or sitting on fence post or the top of a bush.
There were immature and adult black faced woodswallows and also singing bushlarks. The country was in very good condition.
