An unusual sighting for this time of year, a Red Bellied Pitta seen on 14 July 2010 whilst spot lighting at about 10pm at the last rainforest stretch on the way to the Chilli Beach / Portland Roads intersection. Excellent views were had and a few photos taken before it flew off into the bush. Also found the same night was a single Red backed Button quail, also on the road.
