Thought I’d follow up on these recent sightings at Thompsons Beach, ca 50km north of Adelaide, so I took off about 11.30 to have a look. Not very successful I must say since the water’s edge was about a kilometre from the road, in some places probably nearer two, and that’s where all the birds were. I could see there were birds out there but at that distance there was no chance of correct IDs, even with a scope. There was no way I intended to walk out that far ( and back) so I returned to the Dublin roadhouse for a quick bite, then home . Next time I might check the tides first!! I hadn’t read the birdpedia note below before I went so had no idea of tide times. Should have gone to Specsavers.
