RFI west NSW

Dear anyone who has been out there lately

Sunday I am heading west from the Newcastle area to Lake Cargelligo, Nombinnie and Willandra Nat.Park, and maybe from there either south towards the Murray or Wilcannia to Bourke.

Am wondering what the dirt road from Wilcannia to Bourke is like, what with all the rain that’s been falling recently.

Other possibilities are Bourke and Gunderbooka, or Wilcannia to White Cliffs and Mutawintji NP and Menindee.

We are travelling in a Subaru Forester and don’t want to end up in deep mud or water!

Any up to date info would be much appreciated. ===============================

    Hi Penny,

The RTA website has the latest conditions, road closures, etc. http://livetraffic.rta.nsw.gov.au/ Click on the blue flood symbol.

I notice it says that the Wilcannia to Tilpa road and Wilcannia to Wanaaring road are closed.

Also check the Bourke council website http://www.bourke.local-e.nsw.gov.au/roads/1675/13562.html

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

    Carol
