Hi there Just a brief message about some beautiful birds on the Coorong near Salt creek SA I viewed today 15th Jan and yesterday in case anyone is going past this way in their travels… Malleefowl x2 (on an active mound for 45 minutes) Banded Stilts x 50 (Amazing) White-fronted chats x15 Southern-scrub robins x3 (great views) Southern emu wrens x 5 (showing well) Spotted Pardalotes x3 Mallee Ringneck x4 Spiny cheeked Honeyeaters Purple-gaped Honeyeater x 5 Grey Currawongs x4 Australian Shelducks (too many to count) Red capped plovers (too many to count) Pelicans No Rufous Bristlebird YET Still daylight yet… If you want further details, feel free to contact me via email? It sounds like you had a great visit Kirri! My cousin took me camping on the Coorong last March and the birdlife seen from her boat was incredible in terms of the sheer numbers of ducks, pelicans, cormorants, terns, gulls, egrets, etc.
