Ruddy Turnstones

Sailing north, we visited Low Islets off Port Douglas, Far Nth Qld.Very windy conditions with 20-25 knot winds. 8 Ruddy Turnstones were on the wind protected side of the island working the pebbles and coral debris on the foreshore. Some had black streaks on the crown and a black pattern on the face passing through the eye, with a suggestion of reddish-brown upper parts among the black pattern. All had bright orange legs. cheers, Burney http://svbrahminy.wordpress.com/ http://burneysbirdblog.wordpress.com/ _______________________________________________ Birding-Aus mailing list Birding-Aus@birding-aus.org To change settings or unsubscribe visit: http://birding-aus.org/mailman/listinfo/birding-aus_birding-aus.org
