Good locations for the Budding birdwatcher near the Gold Coast

Hi, I’m moving from Sydney to the Gold Coast next week and don’t know the area well. Over Easter we’ll be having visitors from New Zealand who have a 9 year old who is really interested in natural history. I’m keen to take him somewhere nearby which has a good chance of seeing some of the more visually appealing species e.g Fruit doves, Bowerbirds etc. He’s particularly fascinated in owls/frogmouths, though the only ones he’s seen are pictures I’ve shown him. Any ideas would welcome thanks.
