I guess if there were SCCs around the Arnhem land area half a millennium ago they could have been traded by the Malaccans up to China and other points along with the Trepang. You can almost picture some wizened Malaccan sea dog with a sulphur on his or her shoulder as their Dhow ploughed on through the Arafura with a load of dried sea cucumber. Whether it spoke Yolgnu, Andilyakwa or Ambonese might be a mute point if and when they finally reached Firenza..
