Grey Butcher Bird Attacks

I am not certain how typical. I have been bitten in the face by a Pied Butcherbird when I approached close to recently fledged young. So in combination with the closely related Magpie and Pied Currawong that can do the same (although I’ve not known Currawongs to make contact when attacking), it is not so surprising. You have not mentioned about whether it has a nest nearby.
