We hope that a shorter waiting time for publication will encourage more people to contribute papers and submit their observations of Indonesian birds. This issue features an article on the Sulawesi-endemic Dark-eared Myza, and papers on a large communal roost of wintering Purple-backed Starlings in Central Java, breeding of Little Cormorants and Little Egrets in Sumatra, first records for Japanese Paradise-flycatcher and Hoopoe, and more. ‘Around the Archipelago’ is a bumper with 30 pages of records and photos of new or unusual island or provincial records.
