Is the emerald dove on Lord Howe Island new species, the Pacific Dove?

  Pacific Emerald Dove is the name for birds that occur on mainland AustraliaAND the Pacific Islands (including Lord Howe). In Australian territory, Indian Emerald Dove occurs onlyon Christmas Island.  plagiarized from David James’s comment in November 2011.

  The list is downloadable from http://www.worldbirdnames.org/ioc-lists/master-list/ and contains ranges for ALL subspecies.

  Lord Howe is indeed Pacific (although there are 2 ssp of Pacific in Aus)
