Wed Mar 14 Dad Cassowary has just come in during a break in the rain and he doesn’t seem too bad, he’s limping but is still eating, and the gash is not bleeding or unduly swollen, though it is open like a great inverted ^ tear the back of his foot, a nasty wound and one that could easily get torn again the way it is now. Let’s hope the old beast is resilient, wish i knew how he’d done this though, after so many years without major hurt. Thinking about it , we have had several chicks with foot injuries, some get better and some disappear, so foot injuries must be a fairly common hazard for them.
