I was amused by the “Blue-crested Hoopoe”, on Midsomer murders, as if just Hoopoe is not enough. I think someone had a spare stuffed Hoopoe specimen and thought what can we do with this, let’s write an episode of Midsomer Murders. Did you also notice that an Eastern Rosella was also shown in some stage of being prepared? How would that have got there?
It made bird people look pretty dopey. Though some of us get a bit excitable too.
I agree about the awful sound effects used in these TV shows. They are so tedious, predictable and contrived…….. As Wendy said “A little less of the obligatory ?fox? calls and ?magpie? calls that seem to continuously punctuate the show representing ‘night’ = ?fox? and ‘day’ scenes Eurasian Magpie chacker, chacker call.” Also it seems that always and only Ravens or maybe Rooks exist whenever a cemetery is in the story.
