Please ignore my post on AirAsia fares ex Sydney for the time being. It seems that AirAsia have been a little creative with the advertised prices and now the ACCC is on their tail. See http://www.smh.com.au/travel/travel-news/airasia-in-trouble-over-hidden-fees-20120119-1q7e7.html Anyone tempted by the fares should perhaps hold fire till the dust settles.
Cheers,

I am utterly shocked and appalled that the airline industry could hide such things… [/sarcasm]
It’s not that surprising, really, I guess. Even Jetstar don’t announce the swingeing credit card fees until after you’ve entered all of your personal details. I know in Blighty that the government has started lookng into the way credit card fees are applied to airline tickets (such as fees per sector and the overall cost of the fees). I wonder if the government here will eventually follow suit? I mean, the Chinese takeaway down the road charges 50c for purchases under $10 and if they can take it, then I’m fairly sure the airlines should be able to as well. Unless of course, it’s purely profit for them…? Cheers,
Tony (now in Adelaide)
