Cockatiels in the Southern Fleurieu Peninsula

AusBirders,

While doing a regular survey this morning along the Inman River adjacent to our property I observed 5 Cockatiels perched in a dead gum tree. It’s the first time I have seen them this far south. The way they took off and flew I would consider them not escapees. I did see a report recently that a number of them have been seen near Roseworthy (just north of Adelaide).

I am still seeing and hearing a number of Horsfields Bronze-Cuckoos around our area.

BTW the B-B Rail which we had around the house since July 16 was last seen on Oct. 15. I didn’t expect it to stay that long.
