The large flock of green Satin Bowerbirds that invade my garden each winter have taken to eating the last yellowing leaves of the mulberry as they hang in the tree – even nibbling the curling brown edges of the leaves before they drop. It now explains why there are so many bits of leaves lying below the tree.
I wonder how much food value there is in these almost dead leaves but there must be some as it is unlikely the birds would waste time eating something with no value.
Large flock of Top Knot Pigeons still in the area, and lots of juvenile White headed Pigeons foraging under Camphur Laurels and Liquid Ambers. It’s been a good breeding year for most local birds. ===============================
